surprise me
I think I was wrong because I have a general thought thinking everything cost less in Thailand, it is very far from the truth if I am not a tourist.
We just spent US$ 45 for breakfast in the hotel, the same cost could pay for a one-hour massage 4 times. However, mental adjustment is necessary otherwise I would go crazy when I see other prices in thailand. So I'd just adjust my head instead. The hotel is beautiful, the infinity pool which adjacent to the ocean looks gorgeous just that I have been busy, did not have time to enjoy it yet, will relax on sunday probably. Thai's labor cost is so low that even the outdoor astray (a bin filled with sand which people dispose their cigarette / cigar butt) was decorated with flowers and shells.
US 1 hour massage $75 vs Thai 1 hour massage $12
US dental proposal $3000 vs Thai dental proposal $1700
US tips for caddy $60 vs Thai tips for caddy $8
US a dinner for 2 $60 vs Thai a dinner for 2 $20
(comparison based on a regular meal with appetizer, entree and dessert plus a drink, nothing fancy)
US a bottle of wine $20 vs Thai a bottle of the same wine $60
(300% tax on wine, just found out today)
US a car that costs $20,000 vs Thai would cost $40,000 for the same model (100% tax on car)
US a 4oz box of blueberry / raspberry $3.99 vs Thai would cost $9.99
As you can see, how to handle budgeting is totally different when I am not a tourist.
Perhaps I should stay as a tourist for Thailand, the beach is just great and the resort is magnificent.
