I would say in golf, putter is like your spouse; once you have found one that suit you perfectly and getting the job done, you do not change it frequently, you are loyal to it, you won't betray it and buy a new putter tomorrow. Because mentally you are attached to the putter, like a marriage.
On the otherhand, driver has a lover's characteristics. It's very easy to fall in love with a newer model driver, just switch to something Taylormade or Callaway push out to the market without a blink of an eye, on a sunny demo day. That's what people generally do, it's nice to have a lover but it's not permanent, hey one day I start telling myself: "My dear burner 07, I have grown in the last two years, we don't belong to the same world anymore, I am so sorry I have to let you go. It's not you, it's me."
There I go to search a new lover..... and it's not easy but I am sure I will find something.
Did I tell you how I met my spouse? I was in Nashville playing golf while Vic was in a seminar. I did not bring my clubs with me so I got this set of old rental club from a pro, here came my oddessy blade putter with very flat lie angle. I was making putts from all over the lot, at that moment, I knew I have found the love of my life and I am not going to let him go.
